Who we are

Avondale is committed to serving God as He has commanded and described within His Word. Our congregation is filled with strong elders that shepherd the flock, deacons that serve our needs, and a minister that edifies the souls of each member. Collectively, we worship, serve, and fellowship with the understanding that comes with knowing God and the love that He has for His people.

Our Mission

We have no creed. We follow the Bible only. From God’s word, we see three simple goals:

Learn God
Love One Another
Light The World

What To Expect

God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth. John 4:24

We want our worship to be pleasing to God so we look to the Bible to see what the early Christians did. When you gather with us on Sunday, this is what you will see. If you have any questions, please ask.

Singing

We all sing and praise God with our voices, while we edify and strengthen each other.

Ephesians 5:19
Colossians 3:16

Praying

We pray throughout our worship, giving praise and thanks to God for His blessings.

Acts 2:42
1 Thessalonians 5:17
John 16:23-24

Communing

We take the Lord’s Supper to remember Christ’s sacrifice on the cross that washes away our sins.

Acts 20:7
Luke 22:14-20

Giving

We give a freewill offering to support God’s work. Our guests are not expected to give.

1 Corinthians 16:1-2
2 Corinthians 9:7

Teaching

We open our Bibles together to allow God to lead and instruct us from His Word.

Mark 16:15-16
Acts 5:42
2 Timothy 4:2

Salvation

...yet you obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine to which you were delivered. Romans 6:17
salvation-hear

1. Hear

The gospel of Jesus Christ must be individually heard because the Bible teaches that “faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” (Romans 10:17)

salvation-believe

2. Believe

Belief in the gospel is essential to the obedience of God’s Word. Mark 16:16 teaches, “He who believes and is baptized will be saved, but he who does not believe will be condemned.

salvation-repent

3. Repent

Repentance of sins must be made in order to be saved. The decision to turn away from sin and commit to living for Jesus is required. (Luke 13:3, Acts 17:30, 31, 2:38)

salvation-confess

4. Confess

Confession with the mouth that Jesus is the Son of God (Matthew 16:16), that He died, was buried, and was resurrected for our sins must be made. (Romans 10:9-10)

salvation-baptize

5. Be Baptized

Baptism for the remission of sins is essential for salvation. (Acts 2:38, Mark 16:16, Matthew 28:18-20)

salvation-live

6. Live Faithfully

The Christian walk should continue until Jesus returns. Service to Him is a life-long and willing commitment that is done through agape love to our Lord and Savior. (1 Corinthians 15:58, Revelation 2:10)
